Harrie's Updates (17/8/2012)

Recently Bee and I visited a few pet stores to get some treats for our dear Harrie.

As usual, we can't resist the cuteness of puppies on sale there. Most of the time we were more attracted to Miniature Schnauzer pups (which was why we brought Harrie Boy home - We LOVE MS!), and sometimes Huskey and Beagle babies.

We saw 2 MS puppies during our visit the other day. One was black all over, with prominent ears that resemble Master Yoda's (Star Wars character). Bee liked him alot! xD The other was a much younger puppy, silver greyish in colour, with some golden bits here and there. Very adorable! His nose was so tiny compared to Harrie's! xD

Because we 'met' (bought) Harrie when he's already all grown up (about 9 - 10 months), I never got to see how he looked like when he was still a baby..... T_T  I'm still sad over this... Somehow it felt like something is missing.... However, that won't affect my love and affection for the little cheeky guy =)

Latest update on Prince Harrie:

1. He became an annoying picky eater! Won't touch his kibbles unless mixed with meat...... =_=  I've always dreaded for this moment to come, but it still came...........

2. He pees on 3 feet (wong gau seh liu)! Arghh! Dunno how or when he learned to pee like that! This peeing pose always dirty the floor.... @.@ We seldom bring him out of the house gate.... he never saw any male dogs peeing like that... I guess this is male dog's nature?

Other than those listed, he's still his old self. Playful, yet fearful......

He always bark like a champ upon sensing 'danger', but that's all... no further action after barking =_=  But I'm glad he has that protective character in him =)

He's still afraid of the television's service interuption sound.. and also thunder. Will run into hiding (new hiding spot: Kitchen) whenever he hears those sound.

Despite not being recognized as his 'master' (Bee's mama is already the official master, with Bee's papa closely behind as second master), I still love Harrie alot~! He really never fail to cheer me up despite being an arrogant and stubborn canine =)

Harrie Boy's 2nd Birthday @ 1/8/2012

It was our beloved Harrie's birthday yesterday (1/8/2012)!

I couldn't help but feel that he was kinda obedient and more lovable yesterday... =)

Did he know that it was his birthday too? xD

Bee and I went up and down to buy him his favourite snack of all time - Dried Salmon treats.

He enjoyed it to the max! Seeing him smile really melts my heart... despite him being naughty and stubborn most of the time! xP

I would never understand why would someone have the heart to torture or abandon these cute beings. They're so loyal and have such a big heart. They would never remember how often we left them alone at home, or how we scolded them. They would always welcome us at the door when we were out or wait for us at the staircase every morning to greet us....

Love you so much Harrie Boy~!

I wanna spend the rest of your life with you my dear...... =)

Harrie's Annual Booster Shot @ 19/6/2012

Getting an annual boost means it's already more than a year since Harrie joined our Happy Family~!

Glad that his presence made everyone smile daily with his cute antics~! Also very grateful that he's a healthy pup, and just as happy to be with us. The only drawback is that he's still very reserved and protective of himself at times. He's still not too comfortable with us hugging him or patting his little hairy head xP

Bee's parents brought Harrie to the vet on Tuesday, 19/6/2012 for his injection. All along I thought the needle would be poked into his butt, but in fact they inject on the neck. Little Harrie was a macho dog. Heard that he didn't even squint when the needle was poked into him! It's almost like he couldn't feel it because Bee's mama was diverting his attention by scratching his neck and talking to him =D

Tomorrow would be deworming day for him. Need to make him swallow a big yellow pill... =_=

But I guess it shouldn't be a big problem for our greedy canine! He's eyeing on FOOD every other minute!

Recently we bought 3 new tennis balls for him (KONG brand) from Pet World Malaysia, Mid Valley on 17/6/2012. Managed to get quite a number of dog food samples for Harrie to try. That little guy began to lose interest in his Brit Care Salmon kibbles already. Need to give him something different to improve his appetite.

What's new with Harrie? He's an awesome hopper! Bee and I are constantly making him jump high to as part of his daily exercise (he's a fatty now, weighing 6.30kg =.=). Bee would chase him around the living room table while I'll position myself to form a 'bridge' for Harrie to jump over. It's fun watching him do the stunt! xD At times, he'll miss it and step on my tummy instead xP

Looking forward to more wonderful moments with him! Muacks!

The Lovable Harrie

It has been a while since there's an update on our Little Mr Harrie =)

He's been with us for about 11 months to date, and yet he visited the vet for quite a number of times already.

Looks like having a furkid is really not easy. Anyway, we're real glad to have his company =)

The most recent vet visit was due to 'sin' (cantonese). Not sure what's the name of this condition in English. The symptoms observed was a weird rough patch on his left butt cheek. At first we thought he was bitten by a bug or some insect. However when the patch didn't disappear after about 5 days, Bee's parents decided to bring him to the vet.

He was given a tube of cream to apply on his mini butt. To prevent him from licking the 'wound', he had to wear the "astronaut collar".

This was when we found another weird antic he has xD

Apparently he didn't dare to move AT ALL after wearing the collar! Not even 1 mm! He only stood still, and did nothing else. Not even interested in his favourite fruits or toys...... =( (not sure if this is funny or sad)

Bee's mama had to forcefully make him sit, or else he would have sore legs.......

Below are some pictures of him on 25/4/2012:

Harrie is actually more bonded with Bee's parents, especially Bee's mama.

So what made me go 'awwwwwww' was when I reached home late on 30/4/2012 due to work. He actually "asked" Bee's Mama to grab the keys and open the house door for me when he heard the car's engine sound! =')

Plus, he actually barked in another tone once he saw me, as if asking me 'Why you're late today?!' It was really heartwarming to have 'someone' that is sincerely happy and excited to welcome you home after a long day at work =)

Love you so much Harrie Boy (despite all the time when you chose to ignore me when I call! xD)~~!

Harrie Boy's First Blood Test @ 27/12/2011

It was time to visit the vet again on 25/12/2011. However due to the Christmas Holiday, Bee's Parents brought Harrie to see his vet on Tuesday, 27/12/2011 instead.

Probably Bee's Mama didn't know what medicine was due for Harrie, thus he ended up not getting his deworming dose... T.T

Anyway Harrie didn't go to the vet for nothing. According to Bee's Mama, Harrie was weighed and he's already 6.4kg heavy!!!!! OMG! That's considered FAT for a Min, Schnauzer! Plus our Harrie Boy is a smaller size MS, and he's already considered as slightly overweight! Hmmm... this boy eats alot!

Besides being weighed, Harrie underwent a bloodtest to check for heartworm. It's great to hear that he tested negative for heartworm, and overall he's a healthy little dog~~ =)

Harrie's First Anaesthetic Experience @ 20/10/2011

Our Harrie Boy started to jump around on 3 legs again a day after (Saturday, 15/10/2011) he had to 'jam brake' while playing chase with Bee...

That was not the first time he had to 'cripple', so although we were worried, we decided to wait a few more days to see whether he'll automatically recover, just like last time.

However, his condition seem to worsen instead as days passed by. He became more and more 'weak' and looked tired all day. He would lie inside his playpen the whole day. Not only that, he was not excited about his food anymore. We couldn't bear to see him suffer anymore, hence Bee's Parents brought him to the vet on Thursday (20/10/2011), around 11am.

Below are details narrated to us by Bee's Mama:

At first all of us thought he had to undergo an operation to remove the extra nail-like growth on his left paw. Luckily, the vet decided that Harrie need not go under the knife after all. He was jabbed with anesthetics and within minutes he was deep asleep. That was when the vet did a thorough check on his painful paw.....

And then the scary part took place. Dr Vet took out a plier-like thingy and pulled out the growth from Harrie's little paw. Not only that, he digged all the bits and pieces of the growth from the 'hole' until it's clean. It bleed a little, but not much. Voila~! Done.

Apparently Harrie had to stay at the Vet's until he wakes up, which was about 4pm. Bee's parents went to fetch him home and boy, was he excited! He was as hyper and as active as he previously was! We were all so happy to see our Harrie Boy all cheerful, cheeky and greedy for food again! =)

Despite having to limp and have his tiny paw wrapped with bandage soaked in medicine, he was jumping around playing chase with us happily =)

Harrie Boy, you're a strong dog and I know you know all of us LOVE you alot eventhough you're naughty! =D
